Today Whatsapp pushed an update to enable VoiP calls in app. However, when attempting to place a call to a relative in another country, a warning popped up on my cell phone indicating that carrier fees would apply. Hopefully we see an update in the future that will allow true VoiP calls and not ran through mobile carriers.
