If you all use iThemer or MiDevice you might know of DOD Graphics. This developer has done a lot for the iOS community, and right now he needs our help. A few weeks ago my wife and I hired a roofing company to replace our roof and repair 2 closets that had a small amount of water damage from the leaky took.

To make a long story short we had given the roofers $7000 out of the $11000 total quote they gave us. They stripped off the old roof and allvent boots etc, and started to shingle part of the roof. They informed us on July 15th that they were moving and would resume work in a few days and that the roof was fine. We never heard from them after that until the police contacted them.
July 17th we were woken up at 2:30am to our entire house raining water as it was downpouring outside. Water was coming through all of the ceilings all the way down into the basement, down all of the wall, out of all light sockets, wall outlets etc. After going outside when it gotten light enough out to see I found that they hadn’t covered the roof with a tarp and it was wide open as it continued to rain the entire day.

The estimate of the damage is almost as much as our house costs. Fortunately the inside damage to the walls and floors are being covered by our insurance. We were given the bad news yesterday that the roof is considered “poor workmanship” and our insurance will not be covering the cost of redoing the roof and they will also not be covering the cost of any personal belongings that were damaged.

We lost a good amount of things, our beds, furniture, clothes etc are all ruined. Our 8 year old daughter lost a lot of irreplaceable things. We are currently being put up in a hotel for an estimated 5-6 months while our house work is done, and during this time we have to have our 5 pets spread out in kennels.

The roofers seem to have fallen off the face of the earth. We are trying to find them and their insurance to get them to cover the damage,but no one has been able to locate them. Our Insurance company even hired a PI to find them.

We are not typically the type to ask for help but this is way too much for us. We need to come up with the cost to redo our roof and also replace basically all of our furniture, clothes and other personal belongings. We are hoping to get our house back to normal so our family and pets can be back home together.

The $12k I set for a goal won’t even cover the cost of the roof and everything we lost but any amount is a good starting point. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if you cannot donate yourself, sharing this page will be a huge help.
