Next in the Apple line up is the Apple Watch. This highly expected Smartwatch will come in 3 versions: Watch, Sport, and Edition, and will have the following prices at launch:
Sport (Anodized Aluminum): $349/$399
Watch (Stainless Steel): $549-$1049/$599-$1099
Edition (18k Gold): $ 10,000+
All of your current iPhone notifications will be displayed on the watch, you can talk to Siri pressing the crown, or just by saying “Hey Siri”. Apple Pay is integrated to the watch, and can be accessed by simply putting your wrist to the payment terminal (where Apple Pay is accepted), the rest of the process is automatic.
It communicates with the iPhone via Bluetooth and WiFi, so you don’t have to worry of connection interruption when you’re at home and away from your iPhone.
It is also an all-day battery device, with up to 18 hours of activity. The charger attaches to the back of the watch magnetically (induction charge). It will pair with your iOS 8.2 iPhone, which releases later today.
With highly customizible faces, Glances, heart-rate monitor, digital touch, a speakerphone, it looks like Apple is ready to steal the smartwatch market from Android. However, with previous claims that Google might make its Wear software compatible with iOS, the competition could be very close for supremacy.
Preorders start Apr. 10, with the Watch release on Apr. 24.Will you be buying one?
